A new reality show, that follows high school students in NOLA, has debuted on the BET Channel. It was filmed at McDonogh 35, which is the oldest African-American high school in New Orleans. The school's drama department is putting together a production of the renowned play "Dreamgirls," giving them something positive to focus on for a change. I found the interludes about how the kids live in FEMA trailers, cope after Katrina, etc very interesting. Jennifer Hudson, the Golden Globe ® winner for the film version of "Dreamgirls," will make an appearance in the series. The premiere episode was on last Tuesday, January 23, 2007. However, BET will air it again today (Saturday) at 12:30pm & 6:30pm ~ and Tuesday at 11:30am. New episodes will be shown on Tuesday nights @ 6:30pm. All times are CST. www.bet.com Labels: BET Channel, Dreamgirls, High School Musical, New Orleans, NOLA, Play, Reality Show, Students, TV Show
