Arts Market Of New Orleans - Support Local Artists!

The Arts Market of New Orleans is offered to you on the last Saturday of each month in Palmer Park. Many types of artwork will be available ~ jewelry, photography, handmade clothing, soaps, paintings, etc. There will be food (this is NOLA after all... you can't truly have fun without food! ha!), children's activities & live entertainment. Between 50 to 100 artisans. Admission is FREE! We like that word. hahaha... Get out, enjoy yourself, bring the kids and support local artists! It is presented by the Arts Council of New Orleans. They do great work.

As of this post, the next Arts Market will be on Saturday, June 30th ~ from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Palmer Park is located at the corner of S. Claiborne Ave & S. Carrollton Ave, in Uptown.

Ooooooo.... for our creative friends..... they are also always looking for new artists who would like to strut their stuff in a booth of their own. :)

Go 4th on the River - Fourth of July Celebration!

Speaking of spending the Fourth of July in the Big Easy...... The 17th annual "Go 4th on the River" is a must see! Bands, second line parades, free family activities @ Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World and ~ of course! ~ FIREWORKS. The Dueling Barges Fireworks Extravaganza is a beautiful sight on the mighty Mississippi River. Best of all, you can watch from the shore... or... you can take one of the wonderful "fireworks cruises" available on many of the ships. The show normally starts around 9pm. What better way to celebrate Independence Day?!??!!
